Nobsin, Burkina Faso - 13 May 2014: Yameogo Salifu, 21, comes back to the surface after digging in a 25 meters tunnel for 4 hours. In the village where he was born, 31 km from the site, he was a farmer but could not afford to make a living. He says “I started searching for gold 6 months ago. Down in the tunnels is pitch black and hot, but I have no fear. Survival is there.”
